The Senior Systems Administrator (Okta) is responsible for the stable operation, administration, and maintenance of the DLA Okta environments, including user management, configuration, integration, and Tier III technical support. This role ensures secure access and optimal performance of identity management systems, providing expert guidance to Tier I/II support teams and coordination with the DLA PMO and integration teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, develop, install, configure, maintain, and optimize all Okta network software, communication links, and environments.
Manage configuration, operation, and administration of DLA’s Okta system, including web and application tiers.
Analyze and resolve end-user software and connectivity issues, performing capacity and performance analysis.
Develop, maintain, and implement automated tools and scripts to improve administrator efficiency.
Provide Tier III support to Tier I/II helpdesk personnel for escalated incidents.
Collaborate with project managers, system administrators, network engineers, and development teams to troubleshoot and optimize Okta integrations.
Perform security and compliance monitoring, including STIG remediation, vulnerability assessment, and incident response.
Maintain system documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and disaster recovery/COOP plans.
Deploy updates, patches, and new installations for Okta environments in accordance with DLA requirements.
Provide technical recommendations for architecture, upgrades, and integrations to ensure alignment with business and security objectives.
Document and track system changes, including root cause analyses for service disruptions.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Must hold Active Secret Clearance
Minimum 5 years of professional experience supporting large-scale Okta environments in IT administration.
Extensive knowledge of Okta administration, configuration, and integration with enterprise systems.
Hands-on experience with Active Directory, APIs, firewalls, and Zero Trust security models.
Proficiency in troubleshooting, system tuning, and performance optimization.
Familiarity with cloud services and hybrid integration (OCI or similar).
Certifications - Relevant Okta certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.
Strong communication skills for coordination with government personnel and support teams.
Analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex technical issues.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Familiarity with DLA/DoD cybersecurity policies, RMF, and federal compliance requirements.
